Dedicated to the art of the ribbon microphone

The microphone is the original ear in the recording process, the first and most influential part of the recording chain. Royer ribbon mics help you capture the most natural sounding recordings possible.

Award winning ribbon microphones

In 1998, Royer introduced the R-121, the modern ribbon microphone that reintroduced ribbons to recording engineers around the world and put ribbon mics back on the map. The SF-12 stereo ribbon microphone followed, along with the R-122, the world's first phantom-powered ribbon microphone.

Royer's innovations have earned five TEC Awards to date, including awards for the R-122V tube ribbon microphone and SF-2 active ribbon microphone. In 2013, Royer received the prestigious Technical Grammy Award for making “a profound difference in the way engineers record music.” (The Recording Academy)

Every Royer microphone is handmade in the USA by craftsmen who are fanatical about building the finest microphones possible.
